You are invited to a joint venture between the Social Justice Committee/Welcoming Committee and Universal Sensations to attend the Valentine’s Day (Eve) Prom on Saturday, February 13th at UUCG. If you didn’t go to your prom or if you just want to do it all over again, now is your chance. This program will be an LGBT friendly event and will be held as part of the National Standing on the Side of Love Day campaign.

Standing on the Side of Love is a public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression. It is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association and all are welcomed to join. The campaign elevates compassionate religious voices to influence public attitudes and public policy. Through community activism, social networking, and media outreach, people across the nation are equipped to counter fear and make love real in the world. National Standing on the Side of Love Day…Valentine’s Day Re-imagined Sunday, February 14th, 2010 will be “National Standing on the Side of Love Day”.  On this day, congregations across the nation will participate in a day of worship and practice works of love. National Standing on the Side of Love Day empowers each congregation to take action on issues that matter locally, and to pursue strategies that are effective and meaningful to them. All members of the congregations are invited to attend and are encouraged to extend the invitation friends and family in the LGBT community.  Come for the fellowship, music and dancing.  More details to follow.
