Our Mission and Vision

Curiosity.  Courage.  Compassion.

We strive to be a radically welcoming sanctuary in a green space.
We foster spiritual growth as we joyfully nurture connections
and community within our walls and beyond.

We are a non-creedal, covenantal religious community seeking to create a model of the Beloved Community we envision for the world. Here we gather to recall our true selves, reflect on the meaning of our lives, and explore questions of ultimacy together.

We engage the world with curiosity, courage, and compassion. We stand on the side of love, supporting human rights, equality, and justice for people in our local community and around the globe. We have a deep respect for the interdependent web of life with which we are inextricably interconnected.

We invite you to engage with us in your search for truth and meaning and to share the journey of hope and love among supportive friends.

In the spirit of trust, compassion, and inquiry…

Our Beliefs

As Unitarian Universalists, we are curious, courageous, and compassionate thinkers and doers.  We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good.  We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace.

We have a history as self-motivated, spiritual people: we think for ourselves and recognize that life experience influences our beliefs more than anything.

Our beliefs are diverse and inclusive. We have no shared creed. Our shared covenant (our seven Principles) supports “the free and responsible search for truth and meaning.” Though Unitarianism and Universalism were both liberal Christian traditions, this responsible search has led us to an inclusive spirituality drawn from six sources: from scriptural wisdom to personal experience to modern day heroes.

Unitarian Universalists believe more than one thing. We think for ourselves, and reflect together, about important questions:

We are united in our broad and inclusive outlook, and in our values, as expressed in our seven Principles. We are united in shared experience: our open and stirring worship services, religious education, and rites of passage; our work for social justice; our quest to include the marginalized; our expressions of love.

We need not think alike to love alike.  We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who simply let the mystery be.  Unitarian Universalist and Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, atheist and agnostic, believers in God, and more.

On the forefront of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer inclusion for more than 40 years, we are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Central to our faith are principles of green living and being welcoming to all people.  Thus our congregation is a certified LGBTQ+ Welcoming Community and Green Sanctuary

We welcome you: your whole self, with all your truths and your doubts, your worries and your hopes. If you arrive at our door with an open mind, willing hands, and a loving heart, you are welcome among us.  Join us on this extraordinary adventure of faith.
