UUCG strives to promote a warm, inviting experience for seekers, members, and friends through inspirational congregational engagement. We want all newcomers/seekers feel welcome!

We hold a workshop program seasonally to help interested seekers learn more about Unitarian Universalism, to understand the benefits of engagement as well as the privileges and responsibilities of membership at UUCG, and to help people find meaningful ways to become involved in the life of our congregation.

Starting Point is a four-session program in which both newcomers and long-time members of UUCG will experience “deep listening and sharing practices” in a small group setting.

The 4 sessions begin with an opportunity for you to consider your personal spiritual journey and share how it led you to Unitarian Universalism, then to learn about the historical journey of UUism and our own congregation. It moves on to the shared journey that we travel together as Unitarian Universalists, which is made up of three fundamental and distinct UU spiritual practices: listening to one’s deepest self, opening to life’s gifts, and serving needs greater than our own. One goal of this program is to help you discern which of the many “journey groups” in our congregation will be your “next step.”

To get the most out of this program, we ask that you commit to attending all 4 sessions.

If you are new to UUCG or Unitarian Universalism, and would like to learn more about the denomination or the Gwinnett congregation, please consider registering for Starting Point at the next available opportunity.
