Groups and Programs include:
- Alphabet SoUUp – All queer-identified folx are invited to gather for this monthly potluck social & discussion group. This is a space created specifically for LGBTQIA+ attendees of UUCG! Be you queer or questioning, you are welcome here! Come break bread, form connections, and enter into fabulous, curious, and compassionate discussion with us. Alphabet SoUUp, an adults-only group, meets in-person at UUCG and on Zoom the 1st Monday evening of each month at 6:30pm.
- Belief Explorers – Belief Explorers is a group of curious people interested in the wide variety of human beliefs and spiritual perspectives. We meet from 12:30 – 1:30PM on the 2nd Sunday of each month, both online via Zoom and in-person at UUCG. Each month we explore a book, religion, person, or concept chosen by the group at the previous meeting. Meetings are open to all UUCG members, friends, and visitors.
- Book Group – The UUCG Book Group chooses books across various genres, with an eye toward what will provide substantial topics for discussion. When possible, we try to choose titles that are available at the Gwinnett County Public Library so that everyone can have access to the book. We have found that some of our favorite books have been those that have wide appeal. Check here for current book selection. Meets on 4th Wednesdays at 7:00pm on Zoom.
- CUUPs (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) – Meetings on a variety of Pagan topics, plus workshops and rituals. See the Calendar for meeting and event dates & times. Gatherings are held on first Saturdays.
- Green Team – Focused on environmental justice and green living. Tending Our Grounds is on the first Saturday of the month. Meetings are online via Zoom the 3rd Saturday of each month. Find the link on the Calendar and join us!
- Resisting Fascism Team – Are you yearning for opportunities to stand up nonviolently but resolutely in solidarity with the oppressed and on the side of justice and love in the proud tradition of our UU history, but at a loss for where to start? This group meets in-person and on Zoom the 3rd Sunday of each month at 12:30pm.
- Sylvan Sanctuary Druid Grove – Eight yearly rituals are open to everyone. See the Calendar for event dates & times.
- The Open Circle (Women’s Group) – In our fast-paced world, when asked how we are, we often respond “fine”, “okay”, or “good” . . . but are we? Come together in a safe space to talk about issues that are affecting us as female-identifying individuals. Practice being present for each other, share our stories, and develop deeper connections. This group meets in-person on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00-11:30am. All who identify as women are welcome.
- UUCG Men’s Group – The UUCG Men’s Group is an inclusive discussion group, open to all who identify as men, as well as any who are concerned about what are traditionally considered “men’s issues”. This group meets in-person on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:00am and on Zoom the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm.
- Yarns From the Heart – Do you knit, crochet, quilt, or sew? Come join this gathering of fiber artists, bring your current project, or work on creating prayer shawls, baby blankets, and other gifts for members and friends of UUCG and the wider community. Meets on 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings in person at UUCG and via Zoom.
