UUCG will host a screening of the documentary film “Gaza: Journalists Under Fire,” directed by Robert Greenwald and produced by Brave New Films, with a follow-up discussion.

This documentary focuses specifically on the story of three of the most prominent Gaza journalists who have been killed since October 7th,including:

Bilal Jadallah, the Director of Press House-Palestine, who was killed on November 19th, 2023 at the age of 45, making him the 49th journalist killed in this conflict

Heba Al-Abdallah, a radio host, journalist, and co-founder of Social Media Club-Palestine who was killed together with her daughter, her mother, and several other family members on January 9th, 2024 at the age of 30, making her the 84th journalist killed in this conflict

Ismail al-Ghoul, Al Jazeera journalist and reporter, who was killed on July 31st, 2024 at the age of 27, making him the 126th journalist killed in this conflict

We will watch this 40-minute documentary together and then have a brief discussion about it.
