People in indigenous cultures listen to the wind and water and rocks and trees and ancestors and other spirits! The Buddha, when asked if he was a god, angel, or wizard, replied, “I am Awake!” Jesus said that, “where your treasure is, that’s where your heart is,” and if your “eye is single your body is filled with light!” In Daoist “yoga” and Chi Kung, we are taught to focus on the movement of energy (Chi) in our bodies, and that the “heart is the Emperor” over all!
What do these sayings and practices have to do with our UU values and our monthly theme of “Paying Attention”?
Belief Explorers is a group of curious people interested in the wide variety of spirituality and beliefs. We meet from 12:30 – 1:30PM on the 2nd Sunday of each month, both online via Zoom and in-person. Each month we explore a book, religion, person, or concept chosen at the previous meeting. Meetings are open to all UUCG members, friends, and visitors.
