We consider a way of thinking that respects the interconnectedness of the previous and the next seven generations in our stewardship of Mother Earth. We inherit the preservation work of the previous seven generations and act in the interests of the next seven. This principle extends to cultural, environmental, and resource preservation. It helps us to understand the negative impacts of previous actions and how we can positively affect our future by changing them and adopting newer, more responsible practices.
